Irish born Soprano, Tríona Walsh, is an opera singer and collaborative artist. As well as maintaining a busy performance career, her practice centres around sharing ideas and devising new works of contemporary music and opera. She has a particular interest in Art Song and recital programme curation.

With Opera Workshop Limerick, Tríona created the roles of ‘Woman One’ in Fiona Linnane’s opera Off Tuskar and ‘Sophia Vanderkist’ in  No 2 Pery Square , another Linnane opera. She also covered the role of ‘Mrs Rose O’Riordan’ in the company’s 2024 production of The Ballybruff Trilogy. During the summer of 2024, she appeared as ‘Zweite Magde’ in Strauss’ ELEKTRA, in Berlin.

Tríona performed as Soprano soloist in H.O.M.E a Hip H’Opera, a co-production with Fidget Feet and Tobi Omoteso. This production, featuring Aerial dance, Hip Hop, Rap and Opera, travelled to Clare, Carlow, Sligo and Letterkenny in 2025.

As a member of Limerick New Music Ensemble, she composed her first solo pieces for voice in 2023. Consilium I and Consilium II were premiered as part of the Limerick Early Music Festival that same year. She collaborated with composer Fiona Linnane and the Youth Ensembles of the Cork ETB School of Music on a Building as Witness Project - Cogarnach, a collaborative musical work, responding to the Crawford Art Gallery’s building, architecture and history. In 2024 she was selected to participate in the Artist Mentorship programme with the Lime Tree Theatre and theatre maker Anna Newell.

Tríona works extensively in the Arts in Education field. She works regularly on projects with Sing Ireland, including their Sing Space projects and with both of the Irish Youth Choirs. She is a Teacher Artist Partnership trained artist (Department of Education) and has worked as a group singing facilitator for Music Generation. In 2025, she was a recipient of the Arts in Education Documentation Award. She is Artist in Residence – Early Childhood Education and Care, at TUS Moylish. This is part of an Arts Council Ireland CYPA Residency Scheme.

She completed her music education at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts before continuing her studies at The University of Western Australia. Tríona was awarded Arts Council of Ireland Agility Awards in 2022 and 2023. She received the Individual Arts Bursary from Limerick City and County Council in 2023 which she used to travel to Italy to focus on Bel Canto technique.
